As many as 15% co-educational schools in Dhaka City Corporation have no separate toilet for girl students.

The number of schools that remain without such essential facilities is 42 out of total 286 schools in the city, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (BANBAIS).

Two among nine schools in Motijheel, one among seven in Adabor, two among eight schools in Uttarkhan, one among nine schools in Kafrul, two among nine schools in Khilkhet areas have no separate toilet for female students, reveals BANBAIS data.

The highest number of schools located in Pallabi area. Of the total of 24 schools in this area, four remained devoid of this facility, according to BANBAIS data for 2018.

However, schools in Mirpur, Kadamtali Uttara, Wari, Kalabagan, Kamrangir Charr, Kotwali, Cantonment, Gulshan, Gendaria, Tejgaon, Tejgaon industrial area, Dhanmondi, Nawabganj, Bangshal, Airport area, Bhashantek, Lalbagh, Shah Ali, Shahbagh and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar areas have separate toilets for female students, the report also showed.
