Dataful is publishing series of reports based on road accident data for 64 districts of Bangladesh ranging from 2008 to 2017. In each report we are covering districts that belong to a specific division of Bangladesh. Today we are analysing the situation in Khulna division.
1. For the last 10 years Kushtia and Jessore were the two most accident-prone districts in Khulna division.
From 2008 to 2011 highest number of road accidents occurred in Kushtia. For 2014-2017 period Jessore was in the top of among the districts in Khulna that recorded highest number of road accidents.
2. Numbered of injuries due to road accident was highest in Bagerhat district, though the district recorded lower number of accidents than Kushtia and Jessore.
In 2017, more than 50 people were injured in Bagerhat.
3. From 2008 to 2011, highest number of deaths from road accidents was recorded in Kushtia.
Jessore is experiencing a rise in death from road accidents since 2014.
